Went into town with Eva yesterday and today to go grocery shopping and buy more internet minutes. Now we can spend the rest of the day relaxing. I haven't seen the neighborhood children in a few days, so hopefully today I can get some videos :) Eva, Mercy, John, and I all took naps yesterday. We were worn out! Eva and I watched 3 movies...one of them being Alvin and the Chipmunks! lol Did I mention that I won't be watching that for a while when I get back in the states? :) When Emily gets here, we've got to invest in some more movies!
I'm craving cheeseburgers, French fries, and pizza...I think it's about 42 days before I can have those though. I also crave M&Ms and Wild Berry Skittles. But I'm not complaining. I like the American snacks I brought and the rice that we had for dinner last night. I am content. And praise God for bottled water or I wouldn't survive. I'm not sure if the Ugandans are just used to the heat or what but I don't see them drinking a lot of water or getting dehydrated, but I drink water constantly!
The funniest thing just happened. There was a praying mantis in the house. They don't freak out about cockroaches but they do freak out about praying mantises! :) we were all laughing at our laundry lady's shriek of terror as Eva brushed it towards the back door. I don't. like. bugs.
In town, I constantly have to remind myself not to be disgusted by the trash and smell. I have to embrace the culture that God has placed me in. Only about 6 weeks to go...
